Thermowood is wood that has been treated at high temperatures (180–230°C). This process removes moisture and makes it naturally resistant to decay. We recommend treating the outside of the sauna with a wood preservative stain to keep it looking rich and new.
Thermowood is also known for its improved insulator factor, helping the sauna maintain heat efficiently while reducing energy use.
For added durability and structural integrity, the sauna cabin is secured with two stainless steel adjustable bands. These provide extra reinforcement, keeping the Thermowood panels firmly in place while allowing for natural expansion and contraction of the timber in Ireland’s changing climate. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, ensuring long-lasting strength and a polished finish that complements the sauna’s modern design.
The Alderwood used for benches, backrests, and heater guards stays smooth and cool to the touch, offering maximum comfort and durability inside the sauna.
The 8mm black tinted tempered glass front creates a sleek, modern look which provides a calming view of your garden, patio, or outdoor space for relaxation and mindfulness. This panoramic design floods the interior with natural light, making the space feel open and inviting, while still preserving privacy.

When planning your sauna, one of the first decisions is choosing your heat source. An electric sauna heater offers modern convenience with easy temperature control at the push of a button, perfect for a seamless wellness experience. For the traditionalist, a wood-burning sauna heater provides that authentic, deep heat and the soothing, aromatic ambiance of a crackling fire.
Choosing between electric and wood is a matter of personal preference, space, and installation possibilities. Have questions about which is right for your home? Get in touch with the Aquasun Wellness team today for expert advice and all the answers you need

Saunas help your body naturally flush out toxins through sweating. As your core temperature rises, blood vessels expand, circulation improves, and your body releases built-up impurities through the skin.
Regular sessions can leave you feeling lighter, refreshed, and cleansed — a simple yet powerful way to support your body’s natural detox process.
Heat therapy relaxes muscles, eases tension, and improves blood flow to tired or sore areas. This can reduce stiffness and speed up recovery after exercise or physical work.
It’s also known to help with chronic pain conditions such as arthritis or back pain, offering soothing, drug-free relief.
The gentle heat of a sauna helps calm the nervous system and reduce stress hormones like cortisol. The quiet, warm environment encourages deep relaxation and mindfulness.
Many people report clearer thinking and an improved mood after each session — like a mental reset for the body and mind.
Sauna use mimics the effects of light cardiovascular exercise. As your heart rate rises and blood vessels expand, circulation improves and oxygen delivery to muscles and organs increases.
Research suggests that regular sauna bathing may support heart health, helping lower blood pressure and improve vascular function over time.
The heat from a sauna opens pores and boosts blood flow to the skin, promoting natural cleansing and cell renewal.
After each session, you’ll notice a healthy glow as impurities are flushed out and new, oxygen-rich blood nourishes the skin’s surface.
A sauna session before bed can help your body wind down for a deeper night’s rest. As your core temperature cools afterwards, it signals your body to enter sleep mode naturally.
Combined with its relaxation benefits, sauna use can improve sleep quality, leaving you feeling restored and energised the next morning.
